During this special Bookshop Invites, in collaboration with the Prince Claus Fund and ADE, we bring together Nigerian musician Lady Donli, theatre maker Priscilla Vaudelle, and Brazilian producer and DJ Raiany Sinara for an evening about music, memory, and heritage.
The evening unfolds in three parts: a statement, an exploration, and an offering. First, one artist lets the work speak for itself. Then we go deeper into conversation. Finally, the other responds with a performance.
Not your standard artist talk, but an encounter you can hear, feel, and experience.

Lady Donli
Lady Donli is a Nigerian musician who blends contemporary sounds with African musical traditions. Through her music, she creates her own artistic world where enjoyment, freedom, and critical social observation come together. With albums such as Enjoy Your Life and Pan African Rockstar, she grew into an international live act. She also founded The Common Room: a DJ and vinyl project centered on African records, where listening together and collecting come together. In 2024, she received the Prince Claus Seed Award.
Raiany Sinara
Raiany Sinara is a Brazilian musician, producer, and DJ who brings together electronic music with Afro-Brazilian rhythms, memory, and cultural heritage. In her practice, she explores how sound can feel contemporary while still carrying an entire archive of memories with it. Sinara often collaborates with artists and communities who aren't always given space as a matter of course. Raiany also received the Prince Claus Seed Award in 2024.
Priscilla Vaudelle
Director Priscilla Vaudelle is a storyteller through and through, with theatre as her medium. Using R&B and hip-hop as a cultural frame of reference, she creates space for collective (self-)reflection and joy in her musical productions. Her production Black Joy (a co-production by Theater Oostpool and Dawn Collective) was selected for the Dutch Theatre Festival, and cast member Samantha Cherish Wielkens received the Louis d'Or.
